Giving thanks for the unseasonably warm day, I took an untraditional Thanksgiving bike ride to the beach.

Happy Thanksgiving Irene! I hope your day was wonderful and that your weekend continues to be that as well. I spent a portion of my weekend taking just a small taste of the latest Spectrum book. My oh my it is a beautiful thing! I can't wait to get together with my close friend and do our annual ritual in which we go through our copies page by page and comment on what we like and don't and why. It is a wonderful time of discussing art.

Irene; What area of Long Island are you in? Just curious, as I grew up in Syosset/Woodbury. I miss Jones Beach (& Cold Spring Harbor) like nothing else...

Hi Carl,
Greg M and I do the same thing each year with Spectrum - that's when the book really sinks into my head. It's been a busy fall so we're saving it for Christmas break. Have fun!

Hi Lana,
This is Smith Point - more accurately, it's the much more deserted Fire Island National Reserve, or some such name, just east of Smith Point. It's a beautiful beach. I've ridden the entire west coast and while we don't have the drama of hills and cliffs, for actuall walking on th beach, it comepetes very well with anything I saw on the left side of the county.

Oui, Madame ! ^^
Nice picture again. I think I enjoy these pictures as much as the ones related to illustration. You are a pretty good photographer, you know ? Long Island seems a pretty area to visit.
Best.

Ah...Fire Island area...That brings back memories. I agree about walking on the beach. I've never experienced Long Island beach quality anywhere else. I miss the feel of it, the colors of the sand, the smell of the surf. Gads...I've got to get back there again some summer! Thanks for the info. :)
